Happy Christmas & Thank You
It’s been an amazing year for the team at Oxford Ironmongery. We’ve been fortunate enough to work on a mixture of projects from much loved homes, to high profile commercial buildings, and beautiful characterful properties with years of heritage. We are proud to have been involved in the outcome of each of these projects and to have worked with such expert teams.
Our re-brand, new marketing activity, and the case studies on our website, give us the opportunity to showcase some of our work, and the benefits that our customers feel we bring to their finished projects. Here are a couple of examples.
Turning back time
Who doesn’t love a ‘before and after’ and this one has a real wow factor! When the developers of a 13th Century English country house wanted to refurbish a selection of solid bronze and brass pieces, we set about stripping and cleaning them back to their original brass state. They were then polished, without lacquer, to start their ageing process again. The originals were paired with some new pieces, including the supply of British-made solid brass hinges to all new and existing doors to ensure longevity for the future.
Proud sponsors
Oxford Ironmongery are delighted to sponsor Oxford RFC, particularly at this exciting time of growth and investment for the club.
Chantelle went along to last Saturday’s match with Julian and Frances Newman, Oxford Ironmongery’s previous owners. They thoroughly enjoyed the game, particularly with a home win for Oxford.
Renovation of Yarnton Manor
One of our favourite projects for 2023 has been working with construction company Savvy, and architects Savills, in support of their transformation of the prestigious Yarnton Manor into a new International Education Centre. Our role was in the specification and supply of a range of door furniture to fit the character and heritage of the building, whilst being able to withstand the building’s change of functionality. Items ranged from door hinges and closers, through to traditional door knobs and a new master key suite.
Supporting Oxford Animal Sanctuary this Christmas
This year, in lieu of sending Christmas cards, Oxford Ironmongery have made a donation to Oxford Animal Sanctuary. OAS, now in it’s 50th year, rehomes around 500 animals every year and have helped over 27,500 to find their forever homes. Donations to the sanctuary help to fund food, bedding and medical needs of the dogs, cats and rabbits in their care. Find out more about their work at www.oxfordanimalsanctuary.org.uk.
